Engineering leadership that makes platform performance a revenue lever.

Kees Baggerman

Global technology executive · cloud and AI infrastructure, enterprise agility, and engineering leadership.

For more than 15 years I have worked where enterprise architecture meets business outcomes. As Senior Technical Director for Performance and Solutions Engineering R&D at Nutanix, I lead the global function that proves, tunes, and accelerates how the platform wins enterprise infrastructure and AI workloads. Measured performance evidence shortens sales cycles and underpins patented product capability. I speak the language of the infrastructure stack, the engineering team, and the P&L. Five granted U.S. patents, two pending, including an active filing on ML-driven GPU selection.

Strategic focus and commercial impact

How I direct the function: market growth, product excellence, and customer advocacy, inside the Nutanix culture.

The leadership charter

01 · Charter

Technical advocacy

Driving market adoption and technical thought leadership so the platform sets the reference standard in its categories.

02 · Charter

Product excellence

Partnering with engineering to raise product quality, lifecycle maturity, and enterprise readiness.

03 · Charter

Revenue enablement

Removing technical barriers and sales friction to speed global deal velocity.

Every decision runs through the Nutanix core values and a single test: what is right for the customer. I build engineering and operations teams that hold to that line, choosing long-term trust over short-term metrics.

Commercial stewardship

Alliance and vendor management

A function to support alliances in strategic vendor relationships, contributing to enterprise agreement negotiations, partnership definition, and technology risk decisions across cloud, GPU, virtualization, and enterprise security vendors.

Strategic technology alliances

  • NVIDIA
  • Microsoft
  • Citrix
  • Omnissa

Executive Impact

Where engineering leadership meets the bottom line.

GTM impact

The Velocity Engine

A fully automated validation testbed. Workloads, benchmarks, and reference configurations run continuously, replacing one-off proof-of-concept labor with field-ready evidence. Performance questions get answered before a prospect asks them. That friction comes out of the enterprise sales cycle.

GPU & AI Infrastructure IP

Five granted U.S. patents, two pending, including an active filing on ML-driven GPU selection. The portfolio covers GPU resource allocation and image management for networked virtualization, including US 10,176,550 B1. The same capability now underpins AI and graphics workloads.

Where I operate

Leadership is influence and org design

Beyond a six-engineer R&D core, I drive annual operating plan and capacity decisions across the EUC and healthcare teams, and built a multi-tier champion enablement program spanning internal SEs, partner SEs, and global technical sales. The work is influence and org design across teams I do not directly own. It scales a function past its headcount.

Executive Leadership

  • Org design across direct and matrixed teams
  • Cross-functional leadership: PM, marketing, field events, alliances, sales
  • Executive stakeholder management

GPU & AI Infrastructure

  • GPU acceleration and AI workload performance
  • Hybrid multicloud and HCI architecture
  • EUC and digital workspace fabrics
  • Vertical coverage: healthcare clinical workspaces

Automation Engineering

  • Automated validation testbeds
  • Benchmarking and telemetry pipelines
  • Reference architecture as code
